Key components of Absolute Energy Management Services are Business Continuance, Disaster Recovery Preparedness and Planning. This has been accomplished by combining 21st Century technology, redundant infrastructure and technical expertise to insure that all mission critical processes are "Fail-Safe". For example, it is our standard practice to schedule power and submit purchasing decisions two weeks in advance (the maximum allowed by the NYISO). If market conditions change, we make the necessary modifications to our schedule or purchases.

This process is in place to allow us to recover in the "highly improbable" occurrence of a total system failure. It's "highly improbable" because we have a mirror site which contains copies of the entire Energy Management System. A total system failure would actually be a failure of two systems at two disparate locations (Buffalo and Rochester). In addition to redundant infrastructure, a comprehensive system of on-site and off-site back-ups has been implemented to insure the availability and reliability of all applications and data.

Another key strength of our Energy Management Services is Process Documentation. Staying with the example of Power Scheduling, this is a 6 step process that concludes with a cross-check of the schedule we intended to submit to the NYISO and a report from the NYISO that details what they received. Furthermore, three members of the EMS Team have automatic alerts set in their calendars for Power Scheduling, in the event they didn't receive confirmation that the schedule was submitted.

Our Energy Management System has been used in the New York energy marketplace since 1998 (before the formation of the NYISO). Our systems include: Load Forecasting Models, Power Scheduling and Purchasing, Market Opportunity Evaluation, Customer Information and Billing, Analytical Reporting, Financial Reconciliation, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) interface, Load Curtailment Notification/Reporting.

We recently migrated the Energy Management System to a secure datacenter in order to support a hosted architecture. We will be expanding the capability of that system to include customized report functionality for our customers. This will allow our customers to access their energy consumption, energy savings estimates, NYISO billing data, and financial reconciliation information online and in real-time. Customers will also have the ability to generate Market Opportunity Evaluation reports, which identify trends in Real-time vs. Day Ahead prices.

Our System is hosted at 72 Cascade Drive, Rochester, NY 14614 with disaster recovery / mirror site in our main office at the Baird Research Park, 1576 Sweet Home Road, Amherst, NY 14228. Hosting the system in a secure datacenter provides the added benefit of remote access in addition to high availability. This remote access allows key personnel to perform the necessary functions from the office in Amherst or their remote private offices over a secure connection.
